Thankful Thursday: Friends

But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God". -Ruth 1:16

November is a great month to pause and really think about what you are grateful for. I try to do this everyday but with Thanksgiving coming up why not deliberately pause and give thanks? There are so many people and things that I am thankful for. Today I am thankful for my sister friends. There are so many people who suffer because they have no one so I am grateful that I have plenty. There are so many reasons that I couldn't remain friends with certain people so I am even more thankful for the friends I've had over the years.

First, I am thankful for longevity. I have been friends with this sister since we were teenagers. We have seen many seasons of life come and go and I am extremely thankful for her. I don't see her as often as I would like but I couldn't imagine my life without her. As much as things have changed, we have stayed pretty much the same--just smarter and wiser. Now we are knee deep in motherhood together so I can't wait to see how this season will help us grow even more.

And then there are my college loves (minus one not pictured below). I am grateful for their patience, zeal, and wisdom. We may live miles apart but we are always in each others hearts. These women are confident and seemingly fearless. I have so many good memories and funny stories with these ladies it's really incredible. I can't wait to see where life takes us next.

I am grateful for my local BFFs. Without them, I wouldn't know the joys of wine, have workout and MyFitness Pal buddies, or nonstop laughter after a hectic teacher/graduate day. It is always good times with these too. They are not afraid to cook for me or invite me over even with a baby in tow. Heck they don't even mind coming to me--my kind of peeps cause the mommy struggle is real.

Lastly, I am grateful for my mommy friends. They have given me simple advice and words of wisdom that have helped me navigate the chaotic life of a mom/working mom. From beauty tips that help me take better care of myself to simply sharing stories of baby craziness and moments of joy. I am grateful for this circle.

I am grateful for many people in my life too but these ladies…simply the best. It's great to have friends that love you unconditionally and love Jesus too. Onward and upward ladies!
